Any info on the Oct 25 layoffs in NY?

Saw the WARN notice hit for the NY offices on Oct 25. Does anyone actually know if this was a targeted cut to specific departments or if it’s hitting the corporate support roles broadly? My team has been dead quiet all morning and the lack of transparency is starting to freak everyone out. HR sent out a generic 'business transformation' email but didn't give any numbers or scope. If you were impacted or know someone who was, can you shed some light on the severance package? Just trying to figure out if I should be dusting off the resume or if this is just a minor adjustment to a specific division. The atmosphere here is already toxic enough with the RTO mandates, this is just the icing on the cake.

I was caught up in the Oct 25 round at the NY office. It wasn’t just one department; it felt like a surgical sweep across several corporate support roles. Management is hiding behind that 'business transformation' buzzword, but the reality is much bleaker for those of us who had no warning. The severance they offered was standard—two weeks per year of service—but it feels like a slap in the face given the complete lack of transparency. If your team is quiet, prepare for the worst. It’s a mess right now and nobody in leadership is giving us a straight answer.

Look, don’t hold your breath waiting for HR to provide details. They intentionally keep things vague to minimize office chatter, but the reality is that these cuts are hitting corporate support hard across the board. I’ve heard whispers that it’s part of a larger cost-cutting initiative meant to streamline operations heading into the next fiscal year. It’s incredibly frustrating how they handle these transitions, but that seems to be the culture here lately. Focus on updating your resume quietly and networking outside the company before the next wave hits. Take care of yourself, because management definitely isn't looking out for the staff.
