Anyone else hearing about potential Q4 restructuring?

I’ve been at TJX for a few years now and the vibe lately feels incredibly off. Usually, this time of year is all hands on deck for the holiday planning, but my department has been told to put all new project approvals on hold indefinitely. It’s not an explicit hiring freeze memo, but the lack of movement on backfills is starting to look suspicious. Has anyone in corporate heard rumblings about a headcount reduction coming in early next year? The leadership team is being very tight-lipped during the town halls, just giving us the usual 'headwinds' talk without explaining why the budget for outside contractors suddenly evaporated overnight. Just want to know if I’m reading too much into the silence or if people are already polishing their resumes.

I've noticed the same hesitation in our department. We’ve been told to trim our discretionary spending, and it’s definitely creating a lot of anxiety in the office. People are whispering that the Q4 numbers might be softer than projected, which usually triggers some kind of reorganization. I wouldn't be surprised if they start trimming the headcount in Q1, especially since we haven’t seen any of the usual holiday enthusiasm. Just keep your resume updated and stay cautious until the end of the fiscal year.

Honestly, I wouldn't overthink the 'vibe' too much. TJX is notoriously conservative when it comes to overhead, and they often freeze projects during the busiest retail months to focus purely on fulfillment. I’ve seen this cycle repeat every few years where people start panicking, but it usually just turns out to be a shift in priorities rather than a mass layoff. Take a breath and focus on your holiday deliverables. If something was actually happening, you'd likely see more official signals coming down from the top brass by now.
