Quiet period: Are we expecting a mid-Q3 reset?

Is anyone else feeling the sudden shift in communication lately? It feels like the air has been sucked out of the room. The leadership updates have become increasingly vague, and the usual transparency we’re used to at Trimble seems to have hit a wall. I’ve noticed a few departments have suddenly gone silent on new projects, and the backfilling for open roles has completely stalled out, even for positions that were previously 'urgent' just a month ago. I’ve been through a few cycles here, and this feels like the classic 'tuck and cover' mode before an announcement. My manager has been acting weirdly avoidant during 1:1s, almost like they know something but are contractually obligated to keep their mouth shut. If there’s actually a restructuring coming, I wish they’d just rip the bandage off instead of making us sit here guessing and checking our calendars for mystery meetings. Has anyone else picked up on anything specific, or are we all just projecting our anxiety onto the lack of emails?

The quiet period is definitely hitting differently this time around. I’ve noticed the same pattern with the hiring freeze; we were pushing hard to get headcount approved last month, and now it’s like those requests went into a black hole. It’s hard not to assume a reset is coming when the project roadmap is suddenly being treated like a classified document. Management is clearly tightening the belt, and the lack of guidance is just creating a vacuum for rumors to spread across the teams.

You aren't imagining it—the shift in tone is palpable. It feels like we are bracing for something, but nobody wants to say it out loud yet. Whenever communication gets this clipped and vague, it usually means the numbers aren't tracking where they need to be for the quarter. Honestly, the silence on backfills is the biggest red flag. It is the classic precursor to a broader restructuring, so I’ve stopped betting on any upcoming project approvals until we see what they announce at the all-hands.
