Hey everyone, been lurking here for a bit. I'm at Truist and while there haven't been any big, official layoff announcements that I've seen or heard directly, things just feel... off. My team has lost a couple of people over the past few months, not through layoffs but attrition, and they haven't been backfilled. Management is talking a lot about 'strategic realignment' and 'optimizing resources,' which usually sounds like code for something bigger down the line. Performance reviews felt particularly harsh this cycle, and there's a general air of uncertainty. Anyone else picking up on this? Or am I just overthinking the usual corporate shuffling? Trying to get a sense of the broader sentiment here.

I'm with you on this. The 'strategic realignment' talk is definitely raising eyebrows. It feels like a lot of shuffling around without clear direction, and the lack of backfilling positions is a major red flag. Makes you wonder what the long-term plan really is and if we're all just supposed to pick up the slack indefinitely. Hope it's just a temporary phase.

Definitely sensing the same uneasiness. While there haven't been overt announcements, the subtle changes and the language used by leadership are creating a lot of anxiety. It's hard to stay motivated when you feel like your role might be on the chopping block, even if it's not through traditional layoffs. The silence is almost louder than any announcement could be.
