Anyone else feeling super anxious about potential cuts?

I know there haven't been any official announcements, but the vibe is definitely off. I'm on the marketing team, and things have been strangely quiet lately. Budgets are frozen, hiring is non-existent, and everyone seems to be walking on eggshells. I've been here for almost 4 years, and I've seen this movie before. The last time things felt like this, BAM, huge layoffs a few weeks later. Just trying to prepare myself mentally (and financially, tbh). Anyone else feeling the same?

Totally understand your anxiety. I'm on the engineering side, and while things *seem* normal on the surface, I've noticed a definite slowdown in projects being approved. New feature development has basically ground to a halt, and everyone's focusing on 'stability' and 'optimization' (code for 'doing less'). It does feel like they're trying to cut costs wherever possible, which usually precedes layoffs. Start polishing your resume and networking, just in case. Better to be prepared than caught off guard.

Honestly, I think you're jumping the gun a bit. Every company goes through periods of belt-tightening. Freezing budgets and pausing hiring isn't necessarily a prelude to layoffs; it could just be a temporary measure to improve profitability. Twilio is a huge company; they're constantly adjusting strategy. While it's never a bad idea to be prepared, try not to let the anxiety consume you. Focus on doing your job well and let the chips fall where they may. Constant worrying will only hurt your performance.
