Anyone else feeling super uneasy about performance reviews this quarter?

I know we have performance reviews coming up next month, and honestly, I'm a nervous wreck. It feels like there's been a lot of talk lately about 'efficiency' and 'resource allocation' from upper management. I'm in Engineering, been here for almost 4 years, and I've always gotten solid 'meets expectations' or better. But this year feels different. Like they're setting the stage for some 'difficult conversations'. My team's been working like crazy to deliver this new feature, and I'm worried it won't be enough. Anyone else getting this vibe, or am I just paranoid? Maybe it's time to dust off the resume...

Yeah, I hear you. That kind of vague corporate speak is always a red flag. Start documenting *everything* you do. Log your hours, list accomplishments, and quantify the value you bring. Having hard data to back up your contributions will be invaluable, especially if they try to pull a fast one. Hope it all works out!

Honestly, the 'meets expectations' trap is the worst. You're not bad enough to fire, but not good enough to promote. Maybe it's time to start quietly looking around? Four years is a good run, and if they're hinting at cuts, jumping ship before the lifeboat starts sinking might be the smartest move. Always good to know your market value!
