Anyone else feeling the strain on remaining teams?

With the recent layoffs, even though I wasn't directly affected, I'm definitely noticing the impact on my team and others. Workloads seem to be piling up, and there's a general sense of 'doing more with less'. Some critical roles are now vacant and it feels like no one is rushing to fill them. People are spread thin, and the pressure is definitely on. Has anyone else experienced this? It's starting to impact morale and productivity, and I'm worried about burnout. Wondering how long we can sustain this pace before quality starts to drop or more people decide to jump ship. Is anyone else seeing projects getting delayed or scope being reduced because of this? Just trying to get a sense of whether this is a widespread issue or if my area is particularly hard-hit.

I hear you. It's a tough climate when the team feels smaller but the work stays the same, or even grows. That feeling of important positions being left unfilled is particularly concerning. It creates a ripple effect, putting more on the plate of those who remain. The focus shifts to just keeping things afloat rather than innovating or improving. Morale definitely takes a hit when you see colleagues struggling and feel like you're next in line for an increased burden.

Absolutely. The 'doing more with less' mantra is a classic sign of stretched resources. When critical roles go unfilled, it means the remaining people have to absorb not just their own tasks but some of those responsibilities too. It's unsustainable and directly impacts not just output but also the well-being of the team. It's a delicate balance, and when it tips too far, burnout becomes a very real and present danger for everyone.
