Anyone else noticing the hiring freeze across divisions?

Is it just me, or has the req pipeline completely dried up over the last month? I’ve been tracking a few internal roles for my team, and everything seems to be held in limbo. Usually, by this point in the quarter, we’d at least have some movement or a pulse on headcount approval for Q4, but it’s been crickets. My manager is suddenly acting cagey about budget allocations for next year, which honestly feels like a shift from the typical 'business as usual' tone we had back in Q1. I’m starting to get that nervous feeling in my gut again. Is anyone else seeing their department's job requisitions getting pulled or silently closed? Trying to figure out if this is a company-wide initiative to tighten the belt before the year-end audit or if there’s actually something bigger brewing behind the scenes that they aren't telling us yet.

I've noticed the same thing in the public sector division. The reqs that were supposed to open weeks ago have just vanished from the internal portal without a trace. My skip-level manager mentioned that they are tightening the belt on discretionary spending for the rest of the year, which usually precedes these headcount freezes. It definitely feels like they are battening down the hatches until the new fiscal cycle starts. If you were looking to move internally, I’d suggest holding off on making any big career pivots until we get more clarity on the Q4 budget targets.

Honestly, don't read too much into it yet. Tyler usually goes through these weird administrative lulls during transition periods between quarters. It happens almost every year when they re-evaluate the staffing model against the latest contract wins. Your manager is probably being cagey because they genuinely don't have the final numbers from corporate yet. It’s annoying, sure, but it’s likely just standard corporate bureaucracy rather than a sign of a larger collapse. Keep your head down, do your work, and wait for the quarterly town hall to see if they address the headcount constraints directly.
