Anyone else feeling the pre-layoff jitters at Uber right now?

I've been at Uber for 3 years now, in the Eats org, and I can't shake this feeling that something's coming. Maybe it's just the general market uncertainty, but there's been a lot of talk about 'efficiency' and 'restructuring' in recent all-hands meetings. My manager has been extra vague about project roadmaps too, which is never a good sign. Anyone else noticing similar things in their departments? Specifically wondering about folks in Marketplace and Core.

Yeah, I'm in Marketplace and feeling it too. The 'efficiency' push feels like a thinly veiled cost-cutting initiative. I've seen this movie before at other companies. My advice? Update your resume, start networking, and prepare for the worst but hope for the best. Better to be proactive than caught off guard. Don't let the anxiety paralyze you – take action!

Honestly, this happens every year. It's just corporate paranoia season. Uber's always talking about restructuring. Unless you see actual performance reviews being sped up or hiring freezes across the board, I wouldn't stress too much. Focus on your work, deliver results, and try to ignore the noise. If something happens, it happens, but worrying about it won't change the outcome.
