Severance packages for the latest round—any word?

Has anyone actually seen the details of the severance package for this round of 3,300 cuts? I’m seeing conflicting info on the internal forums. Some people are saying it’s standard, others are saying they’ve gutted the benefits package compared to what we saw during the Covid-era layoffs. I’m currently on H1B and the stress is compounding tenfold. It’s not just about losing the income; it’s the ticking clock on the visa status. If they aren’t offering extended health coverage or reasonable COBRA subsidies, it’s going to be a nightmare for those of us with families. If anyone has received their exit packet today, please share if they are providing any extra support for visa holders or if it's just the bare minimum. I’m just trying to prepare for the worst-case scenario. This whole thing feels so messy and rushed, like leadership is just trying to get the headcount down before the next earnings call to make the stock look better for the institutional investors.

I’m in the same boat with the H1B anxiety, and honestly, the silence from HR is deafening. Don’t rely on rumors flying around the internal channels. I’ve been digging through the documentation provided in the email last night, and it definitely looks like they’ve pared back the extensions compared to the 2020 packages. My advice is to reach out to an immigration lawyer immediately—don't wait for the company to give you clear guidance on the grace period. Focus on your visa clock first, as the severance cash won't matter if you run out of time to transfer your status.

It is frustrating to see so much speculation when people’s livelihoods are on the line. From what I’ve gathered reading the fine print, the benefits package is much leaner this time around. It seems like the company is prioritizing standard payouts over the extra support we saw a few years ago. If you are on a visa, please prioritize talking to your own legal counsel rather than trusting what people are posting on the internal message boards. People are panicking and spreading misinformation, which just makes the stress worse for everyone involved.
