Uber interview loop - behavioral questions are KILLING me

I'm interviewing for a Senior PM role at Uber right now, and I'm bombing the behavioral questions. I always get tripped up on the 'Tell me about a time you failed' or 'Tell me about a conflict you had with a coworker' questions. I know the STAR method, I've rehearsed my answers, but I still feel like I'm rambling and not making a good impression. Any advice on how to better prepare for these? Specifically looking for tips that are more tailored to Uber's culture - I know they value 'boldness' and 'customer obsession', so how can I weave that into my answers?

Hey, those behavioral questions are tough! Uber does emphasize boldness, so frame your failures as learning opportunities where you took a risk. Instead of just saying what happened, really dig into what you learned and how it made you a better PM. Show them you can self-reflect and grow. And for conflict questions, focus on how you resolved the issue constructively, even if the outcome wasn't perfect. Good luck!

Honestly, I think the whole behavioral interview thing is overrated. It's hard to accurately gauge someone's personality in a high-pressure situation. That being said, if you know they're big on boldness, try to work that theme into every story, even tangentially. Did you challenge a process? Did you advocate for a risky but potentially high-reward feature? Spin it to your advantage. Ultimately, it is a performance. Do what you need to do to get the part.
