Is the Grand Rapids news just the start of something bigger?

Honestly, seeing the WARN notice hit for 79 people in Grand Rapids this week has me spiraling. Everyone keeps talking about 'restructuring' and 'efficiency,' but we know what that code means. I've been with the company for three years, and the morale in the office feels like it's hanging by a thread. Leadership keeps pushing these aggressive growth targets, but then they turn around and cut headcount at the distribution level? It feels like the math isn't adding up. Are we just bracing for a slow bleed throughout the rest of the year, or is there a genuine plan here? I’m starting to look at my resume this weekend just in case. If anyone in supply chain or corporate has heard whispers about whether other facilities are on the chopping block, please share. I’d rather know now than wait for an ominous calendar invite on a Tuesday morning.

It’s definitely unnerving. I’ve been through 'restructuring' cycles before, and they rarely stop with just one location. Usually, when they start cutting distribution centers, it’s a sign they’re trimming the infrastructure to prepare for a larger pivot. It’s impossible to ignore the disconnect between the messaging from corporate and the reality on the ground. Hang in there, but definitely keep your resume updated and start feeling out the market. When the math doesn't add up for leadership, it’s usually the employees who end up paying the price.
