Morale seems lower than usual at Ulta. Thoughts?

Okay, so this is more of a gut feeling and observation than a concrete report, but I wanted to put it out there. Lately, the general mood across different teams and stores I interact with seems… subdued. People are still doing their jobs, of course, but there's less enthusiasm, more questioning of decisions, and just a general sense of people being a bit worn down. Could be the usual retail grind, but it feels a bit more pointed now. Are managers pushing harder? Are people feeling undervalued? Or is there something bigger brewing that’s affecting morale? It’s not about specific layoffs, but more about the overall employee experience. Has anyone else noticed this dip in positivity or engagement, and if so, any theories on why?

I've noticed a similar vibe lately. It feels like the excitement of working there has faded a bit. Maybe it's the pressure from corporate, or perhaps some recent policy changes haven't landed well with the front-line staff. It's a shame because Ulta usually has such a positive atmosphere. Hopefully, management addresses whatever is causing this dip in morale before it impacts customer experience too much.

Interesting that you're picking up on that too. I've heard whispers from friends who work there about increased expectations and less support from upper management. The retail world is tough, but it does seem like there's a specific undercurrent at Ulta right now. Wonder if it's tied to sales targets or staffing levels. It's definitely something to keep an eye on.
