Do they even care about the backlog?

It’s hard to wrap my head around the logic here. We’re already stretched thin across almost every district, and now they drop another 530 bodies in WA? The train theft situation in other regions proved exactly what happens when you slash headcount and stop boots-on-the-ground surveillance—things get messy, cargo goes missing, and safety goes right out the window. I’m genuinely curious how they expect the remaining crews to handle the volume without burning out or causing a major safety incident. Is it just me, or does it feel like they are prioritizing short-term cost-cutting over the actual operational integrity of the rail network? Every time they cut, we lose institutional knowledge that you just can't replace with a new hire training module. At this point, I’m just trying to keep my head down and see if I can make it to retirement before they decide my position is 'redundant' too. Anyone else hearing rumors about more cuts coming in Q1?
