Hey everyone, been with UP for a few years now in transportation. Lately, things just feel... off. It's not any one specific thing, more like a general vibe. Management seems more tight-lipped than usual, and there's this undercurrent of 'efficiency drives' and 'optimization' that feels a bit more intense than previous years. Seeing some folks get pulled into meetings that seem more serious than the usual check-ins. No official word on anything, and I know that's the scariest part. Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on this. Feeling that quiet anxiety that maybe something's brewing under the surface. Anyone else in a similar boat, or am I just overthinking it?

I've been on the mechanical side for a while, and I'm getting similar feelings. There's definitely a buzz, but no one is quite sure what it's about. Lots of talk about streamlining and cutting costs, which always makes people nervous. Could be something big on the horizon, or maybe just another management initiative that will fizzle out. The silence from higher-ups is definitely fueling the speculation, though. Hopefully, it's something positive for the employees in the long run, but history suggests caution.**
