Seeing a lot more 'opportunistic' behavior at the yards lately. Anyone else?

Hey folks, been working at UP for a few years now, mostly out of the Chicago area. Lately, I've noticed a definite uptick in, let's call it 'unauthorized inventory management' happening at the railyards. More stuff going missing, more smash-and-grabs, especially on certain types of cargo. It's getting a bit brazen, honestly. Makes you wonder if it's connected to anything else going on... maybe some of the whispers I've heard about 'efficiency reviews' or 'streamlining operations'? Just a thought, trying to connect dots here. Has anyone else in other terminals seen this trend, or am I just seeing ghosts?

Yeah, it's not just you. Seen similar things myself, though I'm not directly in the yards. Makes you nervous when you hear about cargo disappearing. Wonder if it's just bad luck or if there's a pattern. Security seems to be stretched thin these days everywhere, not just at UP. Hope they get a handle on it before it gets worse.

Definitely noticed it too, and it's not just 'opportunistic.' Feels more organized than that. When you're seeing specific containers targeted repeatedly, it raises questions. The talk about operational changes might be more than just whispers. Makes the job a lot harder when you have to worry about what's going to be missing by the time you finish your shift.
