Getting weird vibes from HR this week

Has anyone else had their access to certain project dashboards restricted without explanation? I logged on Tuesday and found half my permissions were 'pending review' despite me having been on this team for three years. When I pinged IT, they just gave me a canned response about a 'security audit.' We all know that's code for something else. I’ve heard whispers from a friend in another office that they’re planning a shift toward offshore support for the core engine maintenance teams. If that’s true, it’s not just a few stragglers—it’s going to be a bloodbath. I’m honestly just tired of the uncertainty. If they’re going to do it, I wish they’d just rip the band-aid off so we can all stop checking Slack every five minutes looking for signs of an impending 'all-hands' announcement.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. Security audits are usually automated sweeps that trigger whenever there’s a compliance update or a structural change in the backend. I’ve had my access revoked twice in the last year during these sweeps, and it was always resolved within 48 hours after a ticket. Take a breath and check back on Monday before assuming the worst about offshore shifts. You’re likely just caught in the middle of a routine system migration that IT didn't bother to communicate effectively.

That sounds exactly like the lead-up to the last round of layoffs. I’ve seen this script play out before: first the 'audits,' then the restricted dashboards, then the sudden policy changes regarding team structures. If you’re hearing rumors about shifting core maintenance offshore, start polishing your resume now. It’s better to have a lead on a new role than to be left holding the bag when they finally announce the restructuring. Trust your gut—the communication vacuum at this company has always been a red flag.
