What's a realistic severance if things *do* go south?

Okay, I know there are no official layoffs confirmed, and I'm trying not to spiral. But I've been with Unity for about 6 years now, on the platform services team. I've seen companies go through tough times before, and the uncertainty here is starting to get to me. If, hypothetically, things did get rough and layoffs happened, what kind of severance package would people expect or have seen at similar tech companies? Thinking about things like months of salary, continued health insurance, stock vesting... trying to mentally prepare for the worst, just in case. Anyone have experience or knowledge they can share about what's standard these days?

Hey, I totally get the anxiety. It's rough when things feel uncertain, especially after being with a company for a while. For severance, it really depends on the company's policies and how they're feeling at the moment. Sometimes it's a few weeks per year of service, sometimes it's more standardized. Health insurance continuation is usually a big one, and some companies offer outplacement services too. Hang in there and try not to stress too much until something concrete happens.

Honestly, with the way the market is, I'd start brushing up the resume and networking just in case. Severance can vary wildly. Some companies throw out a standard 2-4 weeks per year, others might do 3 months salary plus benefits for a year. Stock vesting is a big wild card – sometimes they accelerate it, sometimes it just stops. I wouldn't expect miracles, but hopefully, they'd do right by their long-term employees. Keep an eye on industry news.
