It is getting harder to ignore the writing on the wall. I’ve been through a few cycles like this, but the atmosphere feels different now. The constant drip-feed of layoffs keeps everyone on edge, and that uncertainty is killing morale faster than the actual cuts. Management keeps throwing around excuses about restructuring or shifting partnerships, but it’s clear they are just aggressively trimming the fat regardless of who it hurts. I’ve started updating my resume just in case, because at this rate, nobody feels truly secure in their seat anymore.
That’s brutal news about Dallas. I’m sorry your friends got hit; that blindside feeling is the worst part of corporate culture these days. Honestly, I stopped trusting the 'reasoning' behind these notices a long time ago. They’ll blame the Amazon contract or macro headwinds, but it’s just a standard cost-cutting drill at this point. I’m currently hunkering down and trying to keep my head low, but the anxiety of waiting for the next round of WARN notices is exhausting. Stay strong, and keep those networking lines open while you still can.
