Feeling the pinch - Workload vs. Resources at USB

Is it just me, or has the workload ramped up significantly at U.S. Bank recently without a corresponding increase in headcount? I feel like my team is stretched thinner than ever, and we're constantly firefighting instead of focusing on strategic initiatives. We've had a few 'reorganizations' over the past year that seemed to promise efficiency but have mostly just led to more work being dumped on the remaining staff. I'm not hearing direct layoff rumors, but the pressure is definitely mounting. Feels like management might be pushing us to do more with less, which is unsustainable long-term. Curious if others are experiencing this and how you're coping. Is this a sign of things to come or just a temporary crunch?

Totally feel this. It's like they're trying to do more with less, and 'less' is clearly the number of people. My department is swamped too, and the 'efficiency' from those reorganizations seems to be measured in how many tasks one person can juggle. It's exhausting. The constant pressure makes it hard to even think about long-term goals. Hope things improve soon, but I'm not holding my breath.

You're not alone. The sentiment seems widespread. It feels like the focus is solely on cost-cutting, and employee well-being or realistic project timelines are secondary. It's disheartening to see good people burning out because the demands are unsustainable. I've noticed the same pattern – reorganizations that just shuffle the deck and redistribute the workload. Definitely feeling the strain, and it's impacting morale.
