US Bank - Morale seems low, performance pressure up?

Anyone else feeling the squeeze at US Bank lately? It feels like the pressure to hit numbers and 'do more with less' has gone through the roof. My manager's been emphasizing efficiency and productivity metrics constantly, and it feels like a veiled threat if we don't meet them. I've seen a few colleagues who used to be solid performers suddenly on 'performance improvement plans,' which feels a little suspect. No official layoff announcements, but the overall morale seems to be taking a hit. It's making it hard to stay motivated when you feel like your job security is constantly in question. Just wondering if this is widespread or if I'm in a particularly 'scrutinized' department. Curious to hear if anyone else is seeing similar trends or has any insights into what's really going on behind the scenes. Is this just the new normal in banking, or is U.S. Bank tightening the belt significantly right now?

Totally feel this. The 'efficiency' push is real, and it's definitely creating a tense atmosphere. It feels like we're constantly being watched and judged on metrics that don't always reflect the actual work or customer needs. The PIPs are concerning, for sure. Makes you wonder what the long-term plan is if they're already tightening the screws so hard on existing staff without clear communication about layoffs.
