What's the latest on hiring/layoffs at USB?

Just saw an old colleague who used to work at USB mention they heard some whispers about potential 'restructuring' coming down the pipe at the bank soon. Haven't seen anything concrete myself and the company hasn't put out any official layoff notices, but the rumor mill is always active. I'm currently interviewing for a role there and wanted to get a real sense of the current situation before I get too invested. Are there any recent hires who can speak to onboarding? Or any tenured employees who have seen cycles like this before? Trying to gauge if this is a good time to join or if I should be looking elsewhere. Any insights would be super helpful. Thanks!

I've been with USB for a few years now, and while 'restructuring' is a buzzword that always seems to be around in the financial sector, I haven't personally witnessed any widespread layoffs. My team has actually been growing. Onboarding was pretty smooth for me when I started, though that was pre-pandemic. It's always wise to gather information, but don't let whispers totally deter you if the role itself is a good fit. Keep interviewing and see how it feels.
