Feeling uneasy about the Q3 guidance and internal messaging

Is it just me, or does the messaging from the top lately feel completely disconnected from the actual workload? We’re being told to streamline, but the expectations for output haven't moved an inch. I’ve survived a few cycles here before, and the current 'silent' phase feels eerily similar to previous downturns. They are being extremely vague in the town halls, using a lot of corporate fluff instead of addressing the rumors about potential consolidation. I’ve started backing up my personal files and updating my LinkedIn just in case. The lack of transparency is the worst part—it’s killing morale. Does anyone have a sense of whether this is just standard corporate caution or if we should actually be preparing for a formal announcement soon? Would appreciate any insight from people closer to the finance or HR side of things.

I've noticed the same pattern. The gap between the leadership's 'efficiency' talk and the reality on the plant floor has never been wider. Every time they pivot to buzzwords during the town halls, it’s a clear sign that they’re stalling while prepping for something behind closed doors. You aren't being paranoid; the lack of transparency usually precedes major restructuring. Keep your head down, do what’s required, and definitely keep your personal data off their servers. It’s better to be prepared and wrong than caught off guard when the shoe drops.

Honestly, the vibe at the refinery lately is just heavy. I’ve been through enough leadership shifts to know that when they stop answering direct questions about consolidation, it’s already on the table. They talk about streamlining output while we are already stretched to the breaking point. It feels like they are squeezing every last cent out of the headcount before making a move. I’m already refreshing my resume and cleaning out my drive. Trust your gut—if it feels like a downturn, it probably is.
