General feeling at Vertex - secure or nervous?

Curious to hear what the general vibe is across Vertex right now. I've been here for a few years and, for the most part, it's felt pretty secure, especially with the success of [redacted drug]. However, the broader market sentiment is a bit grim for biotech. Are people feeling the pressure? Are budgets being cut? Are projects being de-prioritized? I haven't seen any official communications about layoffs, but sometimes you can feel a shift in management's tone or increased scrutiny on expenses. Wanted to open this up for anyone to share their perspective, anonymously of course. Is it just me, or are others feeling a little more uneasy than usual? Looking for honest, unfiltered thoughts from fellow employees. Let's keep it constructive.

I've been feeling a similar mix of security and underlying unease. The success of our key therapies is definitely a stabilizing factor, and I haven't witnessed any overt signs of distress like layoffs. However, it's impossible to ignore the broader economic headwinds impacting the entire sector. I've noticed a bit more cautiousness around new initiatives and a heightened awareness of spending, which could be interpreted as a sign of pressure, even if it's not explicitly stated.

My take is that 'secure' is probably the dominant feeling for many, given our strong product portfolio. That said, the general market jitters are hard to shake off completely. It feels like there's a heightened focus on efficiency and ROI across the board. While I haven't heard anything concrete about major cutbacks or de-prioritizations, there's a subtle shift towards a more conservative approach. Management's tone seems to be emphasizing fiscal prudence, which is understandable given the external climate.
