Same situation here in the Southeast. They’ve locked down all discretionary spending, even for essential safety equipment that’s starting to wear thin. It’s infuriating to be told we’re exceeding volume targets only to have our resources stripped away at the ground level. Everyone is walking on eggshells because the corporate office is clearly prioritizing margin optics over field operations. If they think this is a way to boost morale while we work double shifts, they’ve got another thing coming. The disconnect between leadership and the reality of the quarry is getting wider every single week.
You aren't alone. We got the exact same memo last Tuesday. It feels like they are tightening the belt so hard that we’re going to suffocate before the end of Q3. I was looking forward to that regional training, but it’s clear they just want us focused on output without giving us any support or professional development. Just keep your head down and document every time a cut impacts your site’s safety or production. At this point, I’m just trying to stay off the radar until the next round of 'financial efficiency' measures blows over.
