Anyone else feeling super uneasy right now?

I've been with Walmart for almost 8 years now, in the supply chain division. Lately, things have felt...off. The usual budget approvals are taking forever, projects are getting quietly shelved, and there's this overall atmosphere of anxiety. I know the economy isn't great, and I've seen the news about other retailers. Just wondering if anyone else working in corporate (or even store-level) is sensing the same thing? Am I just being paranoid, or is there something actually brewing? I'm starting to dust off my resume just in case. Better safe than sorry, right?

I'm at store level (GM side) and yeah, feeling it too. We're being squeezed on payroll, and they're REALLY pushing the 'do more with less' mantra. New initiatives seem to be on hold or rolled out half-baked. Honestly, it feels like they're bracing for a major downturn, and that always trickles down to us peons. Start polishing that resume, just in case. Better safe than sorry.

Maybe you're overthinking it? Eight years is a long time; cycles happen. Could just be a new VP trying to make their mark with cost-cutting or a temporary supply chain hiccup. Honestly, budget approvals always take forever in my experience. Unless you're hearing actual rumors of layoffs, I'd ride it out a bit longer. Don't let the anxiety get to you.
