So, Walmart dropping 400 jobs in the Bay Area. San Bruno specifically. The official line is some kind of "strategic realignment," which frankly, sounds like a nice way of saying they're cutting people. It's wild to think about the sheer number of people affected by these kinds of decisions. When a company that massive makes cuts like this, it always makes me pause and think about the broader implications. Are other major retailers going to follow suit? Is this a sign of things to come in the corporate retail world? It's easy to feel like a number when this happens, and I'm sure those 400 individuals are going through a tough time right now. Just feels like the ground is shifting under our feet in this industry, and I'm trying to figure out what it all means long-term.
