Michigan office closures: Has anyone received their formal packet yet?

It’s been radio silence since the announcement hit the wire about the Michigan sites. I’m currently based out of the Warren office and the atmosphere here is absolute misery. Leadership keeps touting 'strategic realignment' in our town halls, but we all know what that actually means. I’ve been with the company for six years, and the lack of transparency is honestly insulting. I’ve heard rumors that the severance packages are going to be gutted compared to previous years, but HR hasn't put anything in writing yet. Has anyone else in the MI region heard anything concrete? I'm already polishing my resume because I don't trust a single word coming from Bentonville right now. It feels like they are just waiting to bleed us dry before clearing out the desks. If you've gotten an actual notification or a separation agreement, please share what the terms look like—I want to know if I need to start shopping for a lawyer or just bite the bullet and take the payout.

I'm in the same boat at a different location. Honestly, don't hold your breath for transparency. When they start using corporate buzzwords like 'strategic realignment,' it’s a clear signal that the decision is already set in stone and they are just managing the fallout. Start archiving your performance reviews and reach out to your network now before the system access gets cut. The rumors about the severance packages being smaller are likely true, as they usually trim benefits during these mass exits. Keep your head down and focus on getting your resume updated immediately.

That sounds absolutely brutal. I’ve been through a similar layoff cycle before, and the silence is always the worst part of the process. It’s infuriating how they string everyone along with town hall meetings that offer zero actual answers while the clock is ticking on your employment. If you haven't already, try to connect with others in your department to see if anyone has heard anything concrete. Don't wait for HR to do the right thing—look into the WARN Act requirements for Michigan, as they might be legally obligated to provide more details than they are currently volunteering.
