Just saw the official WARN notice update for the Saukville office. 66 people gone as of today, August 8th. Honestly, it’s hard to focus on anything in my current project when the headlines just keep hitting us like this. We’ve been hearing rumors for weeks that the infrastructure teams were next, and now that it’s confirmed, the atmosphere in the Slack channels is just dead silence. I’ve been with WBD for a few years now, and I’ve never seen morale this low. Every time we get an invite for an 'all-hands' or a random 'sync' with HR, my heart sinks. We were told after the CNN+ debacle that things would stabilize, but that was just the start of this endless cycle of restructuring. Are these 66 roles being backfilled in lower-cost regions, or are they just vaporizing the positions entirely? If anyone from that group is reading this, I’m truly sorry. Does anyone know if there’s a severance package attached to this specific round or if it’s just the bare minimum? Stay safe everyone.

It is honestly exhausting. You go to bed checking the news to see if your department is the latest target, then wake up to another round of 'restructuring.' The silence in Slack says it all—everyone is just holding their breath and updating their resumes on the down-low. At this point, the constant uncertainty is worse than the layoffs themselves. If you are still there, make sure you have your network locked in and your files backed up because nobody is safe in this environment.

I was laid off from the media division last quarter, and I feel for you. It never gets easier watching the headcount drop, but please don't let this place consume your mental health. WBD is clearly prioritizing the bottom line over everything else right now, and that usually doesn't end until the ship is stripped down to the studs. Take some time to step away from the keyboard if you can. Focus on your own exit strategy rather than the project deadlines, because the corporate culture has clearly shifted to a point where loyalty isn't being rewarded anymore.
