Is WBD just a perpetual layoff machine at this point?

I’ve been trying to keep my head down and just do the work, but it’s becoming impossible to ignore the constant cycle of restructuring. Every few months there’s a new headline about another 30, 50, or 100 people being let go. It feels like leadership has no actual strategy other than ‘cut costs until the stock price stops tanking.’ We’re all just doing the work of three people because half the team was cleared out in the last cycle, and now we’re staring down another round of departures. How are you guys handling the burnout? I’m starting to think the only way to get a raise or some stability is to jump ship entirely, but looking at the current job market, I’m terrified to leave. Are we expecting this to stabilize by Q1 or are we just going to keep shrinking until there's no one left?

It honestly feels like they’re gutting the company to pay off debt, without any real plan for long-term growth. When you treat talented people as just a line item on a spreadsheet to be erased, you kill morale and lose the very institutional knowledge that made the studio great in the first place. You can only run on fumes for so long before the content quality collapses entirely, and at this point, the constant cycle of restructuring has become the only culture left behind. It’s exhausting to watch.

The obsession with short-term stock performance is blinding leadership to the reality that a media company is built on creative talent, not just cost-cutting. By constantly thinning the herd, they’re creating a toxic environment where everyone is just waiting for the next shoe to drop instead of actually innovating. If you’re already doing the work of three people, you should probably start looking for an exit strategy now, because this cycle clearly isn't going to stop until there is nothing left to trim.
