Anyone else feeling uneasy at WM?

Just wanted to see if anyone else is picking up on some weird vibes at Waste Management lately. Haven't heard any official news or even solid rumors about layoffs, but there's definitely a different atmosphere. Some departments seem really quiet, and there's been a noticeable slowdown in hiring for certain roles. My manager's been a bit cagey when asked about future projects, which is unusual for them. I know it's not uncommon for companies to tighten things up sometimes, but it feels a bit more pronounced than usual. Has anyone else noticed anything similar in their teams or divisions? Trying not to spiral, but definitely curious if this is a company-wide thing or just my neck of the woods. Just looking for some shared experiences or insights. What are your thoughts?

I've been feeling it too. It's like a low hum of uncertainty. The quietness in some areas is definitely noticeable, and the hiring freeze, even for seemingly essential roles, is a bit concerning. My team lead is usually very transparent about upcoming projects, but lately, it's all been vague statements and 'wait and see.' It's hard not to speculate when the usual flow of information dries up. Just hoping it's a temporary lull and not something more serious.

Yeah, the atmosphere has shifted. It's subtle but present. I've noticed a bit more pressure to be 'efficient' and 'streamlined,' which sounds good on paper but in practice feels like they're watching every minute. The lack of clarity on future plans from management is the most unsettling part. It makes it hard to plan your own work or feel secure in your position. Definitely hoping for some straightforward communication soon to clear the air.
