Anyone else hit by the Albany site cuts?

I saw the WARN notice finally hit the wire for Albany. It’s brutal seeing 320 people get the axe right before the holidays. I’ve been with WM for a few years now and the culture has been shifting toward pure numbers for a while, but this scale of a reduction at a single location is honestly unsettling. I wasn't part of this round, but the atmosphere in the office is completely dead today. Everyone is whispering in the hallways and keeping their heads down, waiting for the other shoe to drop. For those who were let go, did they give you any real support, or was it just the standard 'thanks for your service, here’s your box' routine? I’m seriously questioning my long-term future here if this is how they handle downturns. If anyone who got cut is reading this, I’m sorry. It’s garbage how they do it.

I’m so sorry you’re going through that environment right now. I was caught in a similar restructuring at a different facility last year, and that feeling of walking on eggshells is honestly the worst part. It’s hard to stay focused on the work when you know the company prioritizes spreadsheets over people. Take care of yourself, lean on your colleagues, and don't feel guilty about polishing your resume during work hours. You have to look out for your own future because it’s clear they aren't looking out for us.

Management loves to throw around the 'culture' buzzword while cutting hundreds of jobs right before the holidays. It’s a total slap in the face. WM has been tightening the screws for a long time, but doing it this way just proves we’re nothing more than headcount to them. Honestly, if the atmosphere is that dead, it’s a sign that the trust is gone. Don’t wait for the next shoe to drop—start networking and looking for an exit strategy now, because these 'efficiency' rounds rarely stop at just one.
