Hey everyone, I'm in [Department Name] at WM and we've been hearing whispers about a potential hiring freeze across the board. My manager's been super cagey when asked about open requisitions, and it feels like no new roles are being posted or getting traction. Has anyone else in different departments noticed this? Are you guys seeing any movement on new hires or are things stalled out? Trying to gauge if this is just our team or a wider company trend. Feels a bit unsettling, especially after all the talk about growth last year. Wondering if this is a precursor to something bigger or just a belt-tightening measure.

I've been at WM for a few years now, and while I haven't heard explicit rumors of a freeze, I've definitely noticed a slowdown in the hiring process recently. Roles that used to get filled in a month or two are now taking significantly longer. Recruiters seem swamped, and even internal transfers are facing longer wait times. It's not just your department; I've spoken with folks in a couple of other divisions, and they're experiencing similar delays. Hopefully, it's just a temporary lag and not a sign of bigger changes to come.

Interesting to hear this about WM. My team in [Another Department Name] hasn't had any official communication about a hiring freeze, but we've certainly felt a tightening. We had a few open positions that were put on hold a couple of months back, and there's been no update since. It's made project staffing a bit challenging.
