Management is acting weird lately

Is it just me or have the town halls gotten progressively more vague? Every time we ask about headcount stability or the long-term outlook for the current initiatives, the leadership team pivots to talking about 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining workflows.' That’s corporate speak for 'we’re going to look at your jobs soon.' I’ve noticed a lot more consultants roaming the halls lately, too—people with clipboards who definitely don't work for WEC. Usually, when you bring in outside management consultants, they aren't there to help you grow the team; they’re there to identify who to cut. I’m honestly just tired of the ambiguity. If something is coming, I wish they would just rip the band-aid off so we can stop wondering every time a calendar invite for a 'mandatory check-in' pops up. Anyone else feeling like the energy in the office is completely off?
