WEC Energy: Is it just me or are promotions/hiring slowing down?

Hey everyone, curious to hear if others are noticing a slowdown in internal movement or external hiring at WEC. I've been looking at opportunities within the company and it seems like the pipeline has really dried up over the last year. Roles that used to open up regularly are now staying vacant or getting filled internally by people already overloaded. Even new project-based roles that we'd typically see popping up aren't materializing. This is on top of the general 'do more with less' push we're all feeling. It's making me a bit antsy about long-term career growth here, even if there are no official layoff talks. Is this a strategic shift, a response to market conditions, or just a temporary lull? Would love to hear what others are seeing.

I've definitely seen a similar trend. It feels like there's a general hiring freeze in place, or at least a significant slowdown. What used to be a pretty dynamic internal job market seems to have really tightened up. I'm wondering if it's a company-wide strategy to cut costs or if it's more tied to specific business units facing tougher economic conditions. It makes planning for career growth a bit more challenging right now.

Yeah, I'm in a different department but have heard the same whispers. Promotions seem to be few and far between, and external roles are incredibly competitive, if they even get posted. The 'do more with less' mantra is definitely being felt across the board. I've also noticed that once roles do open up, they often get filled by existing staff who then have even more on their plates. It's creating a bit of a bottleneck, for sure.
