Anyone else feeling the pressure at Welltower?

Hey all, been with Welltower for a few years now in [department, e.g., Acquisitions/Finance/Operations]. Lately, there's been a weird vibe in the air. My manager is being cagey, and I've noticed a lot of senior folks have been quiet, almost *too* quiet. Performance reviews just wrapped up, and while mine was fine, I heard through the grapevine some departments weren't so lucky with ratings. No official word on layoffs, obviously, but the whispers are getting louder. Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on this or if I'm just overthinking things. The market's been tough for REITs, and I know we're not immune. Anyone else in a similar boat or heard anything concrete? Trying to stay positive but it's getting hard.

I've been feeling it too, though maybe not in the exact same way. There's definitely an undercurrent of uncertainty that wasn't there even six months ago. Budgets seem tighter, and there's a lot more 'need to do more with less' rhetoric. I haven't heard direct layoff talk, but the general atmosphere does feel more tense than usual, especially with decisions seeming to take longer to get made. It's making it hard to plan ahead.

Interesting to hear you're picking up on something similar. While I haven't noticed the 'cagey manager' specifically, the quietness from senior leadership is palpable. It feels like they're holding their cards very close to their chest. The performance review comments were a bit vague for some of my colleagues, which is unusual. Hoping it's just a standard end-of-year adjustment period, but your post resonates with a growing unease.
