Anyone else feeling the pressure? Cost-cutting measures at Welltower?

Been with Welltower for a while and things feel different lately. Heard whispers about a push to cut non-essential spending, which is usually a precursor to something bigger. Are people seeing budget cuts in their departments? Fewer travel approvals, tighter expense reports, delayed projects? It's not just about hiring freezes, it feels more active. Some of the usual perks seem to be scaled back too. I know the market is always a factor in real estate, but this feels more internal. Just wondering if others are picking up on this and what the general sentiment is. Trying to prepare myself mentally for what might be coming down the pipeline. Anyone have any intel or just a similar gut feeling?

I've noticed some of the same things. The approval process for even routine expenses seems to be taking longer, and I've heard comments about needing more justification for things that were previously straightforward. It does create a certain anxiety when you're not sure what's around the corner. Hopefully, it's just a temporary tightening of the belt and not a sign of deeper issues.

Definitely feeling the pinch. My team's budget for professional development has been frozen, and we're being told to prioritize internal training over external conferences. It makes strategic planning feel a bit more constrained. I'm trying to stay optimistic, but the shift in how resources are being allocated is hard to ignore. Let's hope this leads to a more efficient operation in the long run.
