Anyone else hearing whispers about Q3 headcount adjustments?

Is it just me, or has the vibe in the office been weirdly quiet lately? I’ve been with Welltower for a few years, and usually, we get constant chatter about expansion or new asset acquisitions. Lately, leadership seems to be avoiding any mention of the budget. My manager keep dodging questions about team growth for the next quarter. I’m starting to get that pit in my stomach. There’s been a noticeable uptick in 'optimization' meetings behind closed doors. Has anyone heard anything specific from the higher-ups about potential restructuring? I’m trying to decide if I should start polishing the resume now or if I’m just being paranoid. Any insight from the corporate side would be appreciated.

I’ve noticed the same thing. The vibe shifted around the start of the quarter, and the lack of transparency is definitely fueling the rumor mill. Every time leadership mentions 'operational efficiency' or 'streamlining,' I start checking my calendar for those invite-only meetings. It’s hard to stay focused on the project pipeline when you feel like the floor is about to drop out. I’m just keeping my resume updated at this point because the silence in the office is deafening.

Honestly, don't overthink it. Every time we head toward the end of a quarter, people start panic-posting about layoffs. This is standard corporate behavior when there’s a focus on fiscal discipline, not necessarily a sign of impending doom. I’ve been here long enough to know that 'optimization' usually just means cutting some fat in underperforming departments, not a total purge. Just keep your head down, hit your targets, and try not to get caught up in the office gossip. It’s probably nothing.
