Definitely seeing the same patterns in my division. The internal job board has been a graveyard for weeks, and every time someone departs, the 'backfill' conversation gets shut down immediately by management. It is frustrating to keep absorbing extra responsibilities without any clear direction on whether this is a temporary pivot or a permanent shift. The lack of communication from leadership is the most concerning part, especially given the recent stock performance. I’ve started polishing my resume just in case, because waiting for an official announcement at this company usually means being blindsided at the very last second.
Look, I have been through three rounds of these 'realignments' in the past, and this feels exactly like the calm before the storm. The radio silence from HR is the biggest red flag. When they stop talking about headcount, it’s usually because they’ve already decided the numbers for the next quarter. If you have been looking for an excuse to see what is out there, this is your sign. Don't fall for the 'we are doing more with less' line; it is just corporate speak for squeezing the remaining staff before the inevitable round of layoffs hits.
