Welltower: Are we just... coasting? Or is something else brewing?

Been with Welltower for a while now and honestly, it feels like a bit of a lull. Not in a bad way necessarily, but definitely a shift from the more aggressive growth phases I've seen in the past. Hiring seems to have slowed way down, and the buzz around new projects isn't quite what it used to be. I haven't seen or heard anything concrete about impending layoffs, and frankly, the company seems stable on the surface. But the lack of new initiatives and the general quietness make me wonder what the long-term strategy is. Are they consolidating? Is this just a period of optimization? Or are there underlying pressures that aren't being communicated externally? It's not a complaint, more of an observation. Just trying to understand the vibe and see if others feel the same. Is it just me, or does it feel like the company is in a holding pattern? Wondering what the internal sentiment is, especially for those who've been here longer.

I've felt a similar sense of calm, though 'coasting' might be a bit too passive. It feels more like a strategic consolidation after a period of rapid expansion. Perhaps they're focusing on optimizing existing assets and strengthening their financial position before embarking on the next growth cycle. The stability is definitely a plus, even if the immediate excitement has waned.

Interesting perspective. I'm wondering if this 'lull' is a sign of market maturity in the senior housing sector itself, rather than something specific to Welltower's internal strategy. If the overall landscape is slowing down in terms of new development and acquisition opportunities, it would naturally reflect in a company's activity. Still, I'm keeping an eye out for any strategic shifts they might announce.
