Welltower: Budget cuts looming? Seeing some weird resource allocation shifts

Alright, been lurking for a bit, but this is my first post. On the East Coast here at Welltower. Seeing some odd stuff happening with budgets and resource allocation. Projects that were greenlit a few months ago are suddenly being re-evaluated or shelved. IT has been swamped with 'system optimization' requests, which usually translates to cutting costs. Also noticed a bunch of senior folks in non-revenue generating roles suddenly taking 'early retirement' packages or just…leaving. No big fanfare, just gone. Combined with the lack of new hires and the internal role posting slowdown mentioned elsewhere, it’s making me nervous. It feels like management is bracing for something, but there’s zero communication. Anyone else in a similar boat or have heard anything concrete about potential financial tightening?

Yeah, I'm seeing some similar vibes out here on the West Coast. My department's been told to expect a tighter leash on expenses for the next fiscal year, which is a bit concerning given how much we've already trimmed. The 'system optimization' push sounds familiar too – it feels like a euphemism for headcount reduction or outsourcing. Definitely makes you wonder what the long-term strategy is if they're pulling back on initiatives that seemed promising just recently. Hope it doesn't impact patient care directly.
