Welltower: Seeing a lot of 'extra' roles posted internally...

Okay, this is starting to feel a little weird. I've been keeping an eye on internal job postings at Welltower, just out of curiosity, and I'm seeing a surprising number of roles marked as 'additional' or 'support' for existing teams. On the surface, it sounds like growth, which is great. But coupled with the general quietness and the occasional 'we need to be more efficient' comments from management, I'm wondering what's really going on. Are these genuine new positions, or are they backfills for people who have quietly moved on or maybe been let go without a formal announcement? It feels a bit like they're trying to optimize headcount without making it obvious. Anyone else seeing this or have insights into why we're posting so many 'extra' roles?

This definitely warrants a closer look. If they were truly expanding, you'd expect more outward signs or buzz. The 'efficiency' talk combined with seemingly redundant roles could hint at restructuring or reallocating resources, maybe to areas that aren't immediately obvious. It's possible they're consolidating functions or creating specialized support that wasn't there before. Definitely keep an eye on how these 'additional' roles evolve or if they end up absorbing responsibilities from elsewhere.

Interesting observation. It's easy to interpret new postings as straightforward growth, but context is everything. The 'extra' nature and the efficiency push are definitely red flags that suggest something more complex might be at play. Could they be isolating specific tasks or building out a shared services type of function? Or, on the flip side, are these roles designed to pick up the slack from a recent quiet wave of departures that wasn't widely publicized? Worth monitoring.
