The silence from leadership is standard procedure, which is exactly why everyone is spiraling. Don’t expect an all-hands meeting to clear the air; they aren’t going to tip their hand on global strategy until the last possible second. Looking at the financials, those growth projections are looking more like optimistic fiction every day. If you’re seeing red flags in the Arizona site, trust your gut. It rarely stays contained to just one location when the top-line numbers start slipping. Start updating your resume now, because if they’re cutting deep in Scottsdale, you can bet the rest of the org is being audited for similar reductions.
Everyone needs to take a breath. West has a history of consolidating operations to streamline their footprint, and while the lack of communication is frustrating, it doesn't necessarily spell doom for every department globally. The Scottsdale move feels more like an operational pivot rather than a total breakdown. That said, I wouldn't bet my entire career on the status quo remaining intact through Q4. Keep your head down, do your job, and keep an eye on the internal job postings. If you see mass reassignments or hiring freezes elsewhere, then you have cause for concern. Until then, treat it as a localized restructuring.
