I’m so sorry you had to deal with that over a Zoom call. It’s absolutely brutal how these companies hide behind 'strategic restructuring' jargon to justify gutting teams just to satisfy shareholders before the quarter closes. Four years of hard work shouldn't be dismissed with a generic deck and a cold, fifteen-minute conversation. Don't let their spin make you feel like you were just a line item; you clearly put in the effort, and they’re the ones losing out. Take some time to breathe, update your resume, and look for a place that actually values its people.
The writing has been on the wall for a while now with how they’ve been managing the Scottsdale site. Everyone talks about the 2027 goals, but it’s always the same story: sacrifice the talent to make the balance sheet look better for the C-suite’s bonuses. It’s a total slap in the face to do it via a remote meeting. Seriously, don't sweat the corporate rhetoric—they’ve been clearing house to protect their margins, and it has nothing to do with your performance. Focus on getting the best severance deal you can and get out of there.
