Anyone else feeling the tension at Williams?

After that Savannah news dropped, the mood in my office has been incredibly toxic. It feels like every time leadership schedules a 'town hall' or a random 15-minute meeting invite pops up, half the team starts packing their bags just in case. The lack of transparency regarding these 68 roles is just classic Williams. They love to talk about synergy and efficiency, but they never have the decency to be straight with us about the long-term headcount strategy. Are we looking at a wider restructuring for Q2? I’m hearing whispers about project deferrals, but nobody can confirm if that translates to more layoffs. I’ve been here for years, but this constant 'wait and see' is draining. If you’re at one of the larger sites, are you seeing any signs of a hiring freeze or budget tightening? I'm honestly just trying to gauge if I should start actively applying elsewhere before the next wave hits.

I’ve been through enough cycles here to know exactly what that meeting invite means. The Savannah news is just the tip of the iceberg, and we all know they are masking a broader headcount reduction under the guise of efficiency. It’s impossible to focus on actual projects when the rumor mill is spinning this hard. Honestly, if you’re already feeling the urge to pack your things, trust your gut. The lack of direct communication from the top isn't an accident; it’s a strategy to keep us off-balance while they figure out the next phase of the restructuring.

Honestly, the silence from management is loud enough to be a formal announcement at this point. I remember when this company valued its people instead of treating us like line items in a spreadsheet. It’s exhausting watching good colleagues get blindsided while leadership hides behind vague corporate speak about 'synergy.' If you’re worried about your role, start polishing the resume now rather than waiting for the hammer to fall. Whatever happens with these 68 positions, it’s pretty clear the culture has shifted for the worse, and keeping your options open is the only way to protect yourself right now.
