Feeling the pressure after the Feb 29th news

It’s getting tense. Ever since the news broke about the Savannah cuts, the mood in the office has shifted significantly. We had a team meeting yesterday and the manager did that classic corporate dance where they pretend they don’t know anything about 'long-term restructuring plans.' We all know better. Projects that were greenlit a month ago are now stuck in a feedback loop with no clear path forward. It feels like they’re waiting for an excuse to trim more departments before the next quarter ends. I’ve been putting in extra hours to try and prove my worth, but at this point, I’m starting to wonder if it even matters. If they’re cutting operational roles, who’s next? Just wanted to see if anyone else is feeling this extreme level of job insecurity or if I’m just being paranoid. Is there any chatter in other departments about potential budget cuts, or is it quiet where you guys are?

It’s the same old story with Williams. They love to talk about operational efficiency right before they start handing out pink slips. Honestly, if projects are stuck in limbo, it’s a clear sign that upper management is just waiting for the next earnings call to decide who gets the axe. Don’t wait for them to give you a straight answer, because they aren't going to. Start polishing your resume now, because the 'restructuring' narrative is just code for cutting costs at the expense of the people actually doing the work. Keep your head down, but keep your options open.
