Is WMB's hiring freeze real?

Been seeing a lot of requisitions I applied for at Williams Companies get put on hold or outright cancelled recently. HR is giving vague answers about 'internal restructuring' when I follow up. This is across multiple departments, not just one or two specific roles. Some friends outside the company who work in recruiting have also mentioned WMB has been unusually quiet on pushing new openings. Makes me wonder if they're bracing for something, or if it's just a strategic pause. Anyone else notice this? If they *are* freezing hiring, does that usually precede layoffs or is it just a cost-saving measure? Curious to hear if anyone has direct experience or insider info on what's driving this. Feels like a significant shift from how things were even 6 months ago.

I've noticed the same thing. Several positions I was tracking for WMB have gone quiet, and the HR responses are definitely not giving much clarity. It's a bit unsettling, especially when you're actively looking. The fact that it's spread across different areas suggests it's more than just a few isolated incidents. Hoping it's a temporary pause and not a sign of deeper issues, but it's hard not to speculate with the lack of concrete information being shared.
