WMB - Anyone else notice a slowdown in projects?

Hey all, longtime lurker here, first time posting. I've been with Williams for a few years now in an engineering role, and lately, things just feel...different. Project kickoffs seem fewer and farther between, and some of the ones that were supposed to be moving forward are stuck in some kind of "evaluation" purgatory. My manager's been pretty cagey when asked directly, just talking about "strategic realignment" and "focusing resources." It's not just my department either, I've chatted with folks in procurement and operations, and they're seeing similar trends. No official word on anything, obviously, but it feels like the purse strings are tightening. Anyone else in similar boats or have any inside scoop? Is this just a seasonal thing or something more concerning?

I've noticed something similar in the industry lately, not just at WMB. It feels like many companies are reassessing their capital expenditures given the current economic climate and fluctuating energy prices. The talk of 'strategic realignment' might just be corporate speak for a more cautious approach to new investments and prioritizing existing infrastructure. It's understandable, though frustrating, when you're on the ground floor and feeling the slowdown directly. Hopefully, it's a temporary phase as things stabilize.

Interesting you bring this up. While I don't work directly for WMB, I've heard whispers from others in the energy infrastructure space about a general tightening. Whether it's regulatory shifts, market sentiment, or just the natural boom-and-bust cycle of large projects, it's creating a ripple effect. The 'evaluation purgatory' sounds all too familiar. It's tough to be in a position where you see potential but the green light isn't coming. Hopefully, the 'resource focus' leads to stronger, more defined opportunities down the line.
