Anyone else noticing the calendar freezes?

Is it just me, or is the scheduling tool suddenly locking out mid-level managers from booking travel or approving discretionary spend for the next quarter? I’ve been with Wynn for five years and I know the signs. Usually, this happens right before they announce a 'strategic realignment' to trim the fat in corporate. My director was in a closed-door meeting for three hours yesterday and walked out looking like he’d seen a ghost. If they’re planning a RIF, I wish they’d just rip the band-aid off instead of letting us sit in this limbo. Is anyone else hearing whispers about Q3 budget cuts, or am I just being paranoid because of the market sentiment?

Same thing happened right before the 2020 layoffs. The system freezes are never a glitch—they’re a deliberate move to freeze discretionary spending while HR finalizes the severance packages. I’ve been through two of these cycles here, and the atmosphere in the office is always identical to what you’re describing. If your director looks shell-shocked, start updating your resume immediately and get your personal files off the network. It’s always better to be prepared than caught off guard when the calendar invite for the ‘all-hands’ meeting drops.
