I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. This happens every time there's a management shakeup. Corporate is always auditing benefit costs and restructuring packages after a leadership shift to align with new quarterly goals. It’s stressful, sure, but it’s standard procedure to keep files current when new executives come on board. Keep your head down and focus on your KPIs; until you hear something official from your direct manager, it’s mostly just breakroom speculation fueled by paranoia.
If the HR team is prepping files, it’s definitely time to get your ducks in a row. I’ve seen this movie before at other strip properties, and it rarely ends with 'business as usual.' When they start scrubbing those packages, they're usually looking for ways to trim headcount. Don't wait for a formal announcement to start updating your LinkedIn and reaching out to your network. Better to have a backup plan ready now than to be caught off guard when the ax finally drops.
